"Just breathe"

When I phoned Alina 3 months ago and asked for her help I was physically and emotionally exhausted. I try to live with Anxiety and Depression, both conditions impact severely on your physical well being and I've tried really hard to use exercise to help control my symptoms. My weight and well being have fluctuated severely over the last few years and my wardrobe is full because I have clothes in several sizes which I use regularly.

I walked away from my previous gym very dispirited having done another 3 month program unsuccessfully. When I met Alina I was exhausted and very dispirited having not lost any weight. Not to mention I was hungry, madly craving sugar for an energy fix and completely lost about what to do.

Alina has helped me so much in such a short time. She has patiently worked through my nutrition and encouraged me to eat much more than I ever have in my adult life; eat the right foods at the right time to reboot my metabolism, and she has helped me understand that too much exercise can be just as bad as not enough. When it comes to depression, Alina has opened my eyes to the value of targeted, controlled exercise.

I was so happy this morning when I discovered I'd lost centimetres and kilos but even more thrilled that I was feeling energetic and looking forward to coming home and eating my omelette not running out wanting to consume ice cream in celebration! I'm motivated and looking forward to continuing my Metabolic Precision journey because for me I'm really starting to see this is a journey not a quick trip. I am motivated and ready to continue with my MP lifestyle with Alina, she is soooooo motivating!

It's no fun suffering from PTSD and the idea of working out on the beach in public with a group of strangers was really scary for me. But what a group of people!!...they're all so welcoming, encouraging and fun....they make the effort worthwhile and Alina manages to keep up working harder and improving all the time.

My top 5 tips:

  1. Listen to your trainer and follow their advice.
  2. Make a shopping list and buy enough food for a week (no ducking into the shops for bits and pieces every day. )
  3. Tell your family and friends what you are doing. I'm so lucky to have a wonderful sister who let me loose in her kitchen while I was visiting her and my friends are the best.
  4. PREP! PREP! PREP When you get your shopping home don't put it all away, take the time to chop, grate, slice etc and store it properly.
  5. Take food with you, you and the people who really care about you will get used to you turning up with ready prepared food.
